Isn't there a verse that forbids marriage of women and also men to idolaters and allowing women only to marry Muslim? Can you visualize a Muslim woman marrying an Israeli Jew? Many Jewish women marry Arab Muslims and have legal and social problems and may now be illegal.
Can you forward justification to allow women to marry non-Muslims? Freedom for women to allow herself to be under the contol or influence of a non -Islamic husband or family is only freedom to do wrong. I am an American Muslim retired in Turkey. It is bad enough when our girls marry Muslims in name only. Many non-Muslims willingly change their nominal birth religion to Islam as a condition to marry the woman they love and under the good influence of their wives and good examples they they find become sincere and practicing Muslims. Children fom a non-Jewish mother are not considered Jews and have no rights as Jews.
Patriarchy may affect interpretation but Quran says that to marry a believing slave is better than a polytheist. Exposing children to a non-Muslim father in Islamic societies especially can have negative and confusing results. The fact that some non-Muslims have a better character than some Muslims is no justification for a woman' right to choose her husband. Some scholars do not even consider marrying Jews orchristian women permissible especially even there are good Muslim men available.
